The full Ramadan prayer schedule
Below is the official message from the Charlotte Moonsighting Committee:
Salaam All.
The noble Companions, including Aisha (ra), Asma (ra), and Abu Hurairah (ra), emphasized the virtue of fasting in Sha’ban, teaching us that observing even one day in Sha’ban is far better than breaking a fast in Ramadan.
Based on the criteria set by the Charlotte moon sighting committee, the moon has been sighted in at least 10 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Somalia, Sudan, Iraq, and Lebanon.
As a result, we will pray the first Taraweeh prayer tonight and observe the first fast tomorrow. May Allah accept it from us all.
On behalf of ICC:
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
On my behalf and on behalf of the new Board of Directors of the Islamic Center of Charlotte, I am honored to extend to you our warmest greetings and sincere congratulations on the blessed occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the month of the Qur’an, mercy, and forgiveness.
We pray that Allah (SWT) accepts our good deeds and yours, and that He makes this blessed month a time of goodness and blessing for our respected community. May He strengthen among us the values of cooperation, compassion, and unity, and bring our hearts together upon righteousness and piety in service of our faith and our community.
Allah the Almighty says:
“And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.”
(Qur’an 5:2)
Ramadan Mubarak.
May you and your families be blessed with peace and prosperity.
Omar Otabashi
President, Board of Directors
